". . . we call it the Last War, not because it was mankind's final battle, but because the world which started the war no longer existed by its close. It lasted forty years, and it saw the destruction of four mighty empires. Two generations never knew a world without conflict; few were not personally touched by its ravages, and fewer still remembered a world without Ogres . . ." – from "After the Long Winter: Roots of the New World" University of Melbourne, 2250

Misc PAK Units

22nd Cyberstrike Group.

The level of OGRE assets (of all Models and Marks) was more fluid than any other PAK formation, fluctuating wildly with losses and resupply windows.  The PAK tended to be the last major theatre to receive updated variants and be allocated replacements.  Some speculation has been made to this subject, given the capability of OGRE units to operate independently and without significant resupply.

It has been postulated that PanE High Command may have felt that OGRE units were disadvantaged in the SCZ where fast GEV strike capabilities put heavier units at a disadvantage.  Regardless of the reasons, PAK battlefield recovery and rear maintenance capabilities achieved higher performance levels than any other formation within the PanE military. The necessity of such actions drove command priority for them, and there are a number of example where significant sized raids were undertaken to undertake salvage and recapture missions.
